I must admit I am yet to watch the full interview of former President John Agyekum Kuffuor with respect to his position on Nkrumah’s legacy.
Some opposition elements and so-called lovers of Nkrumah’s ideologies are bashing the former President over what he is alleged to have said.
While I am yet to plunge myself into the nitty gritty of the matter, I would want to find out which of Nkrumah’s ideologies have been embraced by those attacking President Kuffuor?
These people are always in town with their cacophonous noises about Nkrumah’s ideologies and how they were perfect for our development and should be employed today as they find them relevant.
What is striking in all of these is the fact that when their political party came to power, they never went for Nkrumah! In fact, our NDC friends who have turned into protectors of Nkrumah’s ideologies have been in power for so many years but did not find it needful or important to govern on the ideological teachings or methodologies of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
They themselves do not believe in any Nkrumah ideology. It is like a myth to them yet they go about proclaiming how Nkrumah’s model worked perfectly for Ghana.
The CPP people amongst the NDC have all abandoned Nkrumah and what he stood for but are today insulting the former President for holding a divergent view on what Ghana’s first President stood for.
They don’t believe in the very ideologies they profess but are quick to descend on President Kuffuor for holding a dissenting opinion. I simply don’t get their drift!
