The Black Satellites of Ghana secured a crucial 2-0 win against Niger in their second group stage match at the WAFU U-20 Zone B tournament, with both goals coming from forward Aziz Musibau on Sunday afternoon in Togo.
After drawing 2-2 in their opening game against Benin, where Jerry Afriyie netted a last-minute equalizer, Ghana entered the match determined to claim their first victory of the tournament. Despite a goalless first half, both sides worked hard to gain the upper hand.
It was Musibau who broke the deadlock shortly after the hour mark, unleashing a powerful long-range strike that beat Niger’s goalkeeper. He doubled Ghana’s lead in the 73rd minute, converting a close-range effort to secure all three points.
The victory boosts Ghana’s tally to four points, putting the Black Satellites in a strong position to advance to the next stage of the competition.
