MyABCLive.com, citing a report originally from bbc.com, reports that U.S. intelligence agencies have identified “Russian influence actors” as the source behind a fake video that falsely claims election fraud occurred in Arizona.
The video, which circulated on X via a now-suspended pro-Kremlin account, had over 200,000 views before it was taken down. In the footage, an anonymous man, who claims to be a former aide to Arizona’s Secretary of State Adrian Fontes, alleges witnessing “massive fraud against Donald Trump.” However, Fontes has dismissed the accusations as baseless.
The individual in the video appears with a pixelated face and speaks in a robotic, monotonous tone with unnatural pauses—characteristics that experts note are typical of AI-generated audio. This production is linked to the Russian Foundation to Battle Injustice, also known as “FBI,” an organization founded in 2021 by the late oligarch Yevgeny Prigozhin. Prigozhin, prior to his death, faced U.S. sanctions for his involvement in election interference.
The foundation’s disinformation is frequently amplified by the Russian influence group “Storm-1516,” which has been associated with multiple alleged election-related fakes.
