Southampton Manager has announced that Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana is fit to rejoin the squad

Southampton Manager Russell Martin has announced that Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana is fit to rejoin the squad after a significant injury layoff.

Sulemana has yet to make an appearance in the 2024-2025 season, having sustained an injury during a preseason match against Oxford United, a lower league team.

As The Saints gear up to face Leicester City on Saturday, October 19, at 14:00 GMT, Martin shared this encouraging update as the English Premier League action resumes following the international break.

Sulemana’s return is timely, as he prepares to play alongside fellow Black Stars players Fatawu Issahaku and Jordan Ayew, who are set to feature for Leicester City.

“I’m thrilled to have everyone back together for the first time in a couple of weeks. Everyone is largely in good shape. Kamaldeen is fit to be in the squad, and Will Smallbone has also returned, so we have a couple of positives,” Martin stated.

Sulemana, who joined Southampton from French club Stade Rennes, has scored two goals in 18 appearances. He missed the Black Stars’ recent 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Sudan, where Ghana drew 0-0 and then lost 2-0 in a doubleheader.
