Shatta Wale Reacts to Stonebwoy’s Birthday Wish, Dismisses Talk of ‘Differences’

The longstanding rivalry between Ghanaian Dancehall artists Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy resurfaced when Shatta Wale responded to Stonebwoy’s birthday message with a pointed remark.

As Shatta Wale, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr., celebrated his 40th birthday on October 17, 2024, social media was flooded with messages from his fans, particularly members of the Shatta Movement (SM). Among those wishing him well was Stonebwoy, his long-time competitor in the music industry.

Stonebwoy, known for hits like “Therapy,” took to X (formerly Twitter) to send his birthday wishes, writing: “No matter the differences. I wish you long life, brother! Big 40… (Blackstar age).”

However, Shatta Wale was quick to react to the message, seemingly dismissing the idea of any ongoing “differences” between them. He responded bluntly, saying, “Which differences? Stop fooling and grow up… The fans don’t need this enmity… be safe.”

Many have interpreted Shatta Wale’s response as an indication that tensions between the two artists may still linger, despite past efforts to reconcile. The exchange highlights the complex nature of their relationship, which has seen both rivalry and camaraderie over the years.
