Divine Bosson, the Municipal Chief Executive of Ho and the NPP’s Parliamentary candidate for Ho Central, has stated that bringing back John Mahama as President would be harmful to Ghana’s development.
He argued that Ghanaians have already experienced Mahama’s leadership and found it unsatisfactory, which led to his defeat in the 2016 elections. Speaking at a rally in Ho in the Volta Region, Bosson expressed that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the right leader to propel the nation forward and should therefore be chosen as the next President.
Bosson used a cultural reference to emphasize his point, saying, “According to Ewe and Ghanaian customs, once a chief is deposed, he cannot be reinstated—it’s considered an abomination. In 2016, we removed Mahama from office, and he won’t return to the presidency.”
He further expressed optimism about his chances of unseating the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ho Central Constituency in the upcoming December 7th elections, claiming that his new approach to politics is creating strong competition for the NDC.
“For the first time in NDC’s history, they are facing a serious contest in Ho Central. Their National Executives have been spending so much time here that they might as well build houses in Ho. But whether they like it or not, we will defeat them in 2024,” he said confidently.
Bosson urged voters to choose progress and development by electing him as the Member of Parliament for Ho Central and Dr. Bawumia as Ghana’s next President. He concluded, “On December 7, vote for Divine Bosson and Dr. Bawumia. We are No. 1 on the ballot paper.”
