Patrice Motsepe Announces Run for Second Term as CAF President

CAF President Patrice Motsepe has officially declared his intention to seek a second term, ahead of the upcoming CAF Presidential elections in March 2025.

Since taking office in March 2021, Motsepe has focused on implementing significant reforms aimed at elevating African football on the world stage.

The 61-year-old South African businessman and mining leader has made a mark in African football governance, particularly through his emphasis on financial transparency and accountability within CAF.

CAF confirmed Motsepe’s decision, stating, “CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe has agreed to stand as a candidate in the CAF Presidential Elections in March 2025.” His decision was influenced by calls from several Member Association Presidents, Zonal Union Presidents, and other key stakeholders.
