The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced plans to create a committee aimed at analyzing the reasons behind its loss in the 2024 general elections.
Speaking at a press briefing held at the party’s headquarters, NPP National Chairman Stephen Ayesu Ntim explained that the committee would gather honest feedback from members to guide the party’s reorganization and prepare for future elections.
Mr. Ntim acknowledged the frustration and disappointment among party supporters following the election outcome. He emphasized the importance of using this period for introspection and implementing necessary reforms.
One of the key areas the party plans to assess is its internal processes, including the methods for electing national executives and flagbearers, as part of efforts to strengthen the party’s structure.
“We worked tirelessly with the hope of achieving a decisive victory. While the results didn’t align with our expectations, this is not the end for the NPP. We remain committed to the party’s core values and our vision for a better Ghana,” he stated.
The election review committee, which will be established in January 2025, is tasked with conducting a detailed analysis of the election. It will engage party members, stakeholders, and the public to identify the key factors that contributed to the defeat.
