Mahama’s Hireling, Haruna Attah Cannot Topple Akufo-Addo With His Slanderous Epistles

Ghanaians, without a shred of doubt, have been sailing under the demulcent Government of President Akufo-Addo with its life-changing and impactful policies including the flagship Free S.H.S programme, Planting for Food and Jobs, etc.

It is against this background that Ghanaians are willing to renew the mandate of the Akufo-Addo administration as the 2020 elections inch closer.

I have sighted a write-up by Alhaji Abdul-Rahman Haruna Attah in which he makes some wild claims and engages in blatant fabrications against President Akufo-Addo.

He persistently continues to show his longanimity by coming out with epistolary articles which largely seek to impugn the integrity of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

First of all, Haruna Attah sheepishly revels in the selection of Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang as the party’s running mate, eulogizes her and propels her to the high heavens.

I struggle to meet this particular point he makes when the realities on the ground loudly show that their running mate is struggling to get noticed wherever she goes. For someone whose presence does not exude crowds or attract same cannot be said to be anything worth clapping for. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang doesn’t have the clout expected of a worthy running mate. Well, he can continue to dwell in that dreamy world.

Haruna Attah has clearly lost touch with reality and same is responsible for his belief that the John and Jane ticket brings forth ebullient feelings and inspires confidence. The Akufo-Addo/Bawumia team is neither jaded nor old-fashioned. The team rather inspires confidence and hope. Once again, he has been blindfolded by the position he hopes to get in the unlikely event that the NDC wins.

I am much bewildered by the claim he makes that Charlotte Osei was ousted by Akufo-Addo when the facts do not support that point. Charlotte Osei and her other Commissioners turned their office into a warzone where they dueled amongst themselves. That and some procurement breaches came together to determine the fate of Charlotte Osei.

Prior to the 2016 elections, we were made to understand by then President Mahama that the Electoral Commission is an independent body that does not have the capability to rig elections in favour of any political party. Is he saying that the independence nature of the EC has been eroded?

Haruna Attah’s claim of the EC and NPP setting traps to rig the 2020 elections is not supported by any scientific and practical evidence. If Electoral Commissioners can rig elections for parties, Mahama would not have lost out in the 2016 elections when Charlotte Osei was at the helm of affairs at our EC. Haruna Attah should shove aside this hollow claim.

How the EC’s one day opening of the registration exercise for those who have attained 18 and those who could not register for whatever reason to register on October 1 leads to a confirmation of the EC going to every length to rig the elections for President Akufo-Addo is a position which defies commonsense.

For those who might not have come across the reasons behind Haruna Attah’s antagonistic posturing towards His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, let me school you on a few things.

He engaged in tribalistic tendencies and activities which saw him being elevated by Mahama to become an ambassador. He sold his longstanding friendship with Akufo-Addo for a song.

He is disgruntled and has developed a jaundiced and venomous bitterness towards Akufo-Addo.

Haruna Attah and his friend Steve Mallory, over the years, have been going round with their mercenary tactics in their ultimate goal to topple President Akufo-Addo.

He wakes up to invent stories with the sole intent of throwing mud at the man Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo so that Ghanaians would reject him. His devilish schemes have failed to materialize and will not bear any fruits now or ever.
