The Ministry of Food and Agriculture has officially announced that this year’s National Farmers’ Day will be observed on Friday, November 8, 2024.
A statement from the Ministry on Saturday, October 26, noted that President Akufo-Addo confirmed the date for the event, which will mark the 40th annual celebration. The announcement stated that the national event will be held in the Greater Accra Region, with no separate regional celebrations planned this year. However, each region has been given the option to select winners for 10 regional award categories.
The statement further indicated that these regional awardees are expected to travel to Accra on November 8 for the Awards Night Ceremony, scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at the Alisa Hotel, North Ridge. During this event, Regional Ministers will formally present awards to the honourees from their respective regions.
In addition, the Ministry mentioned that Regional Ministers, along with their Regional Directors of Agriculture, have been requested to attend the ceremony. All related expenses for their participation will be covered by the respective Regional Coordinating Councils.
“Your support and presence are essential in celebrating the immense contributions our farmers make to national development,” the Ministry added.
