John Mahama’s communications strategist, Sam Dzata George, has vowed that WONTUMI’s Media Houses would suffer shutdowns if John Mahama wins the 2024 elections.
In a post published on his Facebook page, the Prampram MP threatened that the media platforms affiliated to Wontumi Media for what he terms as the publication of misinformation with respect to the mode of voting.
Sam George, who has been tipped for the Communications Ministry as a Minister should Mahama win, held that the Mahama presidency would use the National Communications Authority, NCA, to revoke the operating license of Wontumi.
“I seek to remind you that your broadcasting licence was issued by the National Communications Authority Ghana came with the strict guidelines and terms of issuance. A breach of those terms is valid legal grounds for the revocation of the licence” he threatened.

‘TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
MANAGEMENT,
WONTUNMI TV
I have noticed with great disdain and revulsion the distasteful and grossly unprofessional content you have repeatedly churned out over the past months. Notable is your current campaign of voter miseducation and misinformation.
You have made it a point to constantly deceive and misinform the general public on the mode of voting and processes for voting in the upcoming elections. This act is calculated, deliberate, malicious, capricious, ill-intended, evil and wicked.
I seek to remind you that your broadcasting licence issued by the National Communications Authority Ghana came with strict guidelines and terms for issuance. A breach of those terms is valid legal grounds for the revocation of the licence.
As Deputy Ranking Member for the Select Committee on Communications for the Parliament of Ghana, I wish to remind you of your responsibilities under the terms of your licence and remind you that in the near future, the consequences of your actions would be handled accordingly.
In service to our Nation and our Democracy,
Hon. Samuel Nartey George’
This points to the fact that should John Mahama win the 2024 elections, media platforms associated with Wontumi would have their licences revoked.
