Interior Ministry Confirms November 8 Not a Public Holiday

Ministry of the Interior has clarified that Friday, November 8, will not be recognized as a public holiday, despite it being the date for the 2024 National Farmers’ Day celebration.

The Ministry issued this statement, signed by Interior Minister Henry Quartey, on Tuesday, November 5. The statement confirmed that the official Farmers’ Day holiday remains set for Friday, December 6, 2024, which will be observed as a statutory public holiday nationwide.

This clarification follows an announcement by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture that the 40th annual Farmers’ Day event would take place on November 8, 2024. According to the Ministry’s press release, President Akufo-Addo approved this date for the celebration, which will be held in the Greater Accra Region without regional-level events.
