ABC News To Hold Economic Symposium Thursday 13th June 2024

ABC News is set to hold its maiden economic symposium on Thursday, 13th June, 2024, at GNAT Hall.

The event, scheduled for 10 o’clock in the morning will be chaired by Dr Edwin Nii Obodai Provencal, Managing Director of Bulk Oil and Transportation Company (BOST).

According to the brainchild of this event, Gordon Asare-Bediako, the symposium will be the first of a series to be held in the course of the year to discuss pressing economic, political, and social issues in Ghana.

The theme for next week’s session is “Arresting the Dollar: Political Rhetoric or Economic Reality?”, which aims to look at the behaviour of the United States Dollar against the Ghanaian Cedi and the role citizens can play to strengthen the local currency.

The main speakers of the event are Professor Isaac Boadi, Dean, Faculty of Accounting and Finance, UPSA, and Dr. George Domfe, Development Economist, Snr Research Fellow, Centre for Social Policy Studies, University of Ghana, Legon.

Other Speakers on the day include Dr Frank Bannor, Development Economist, Head of Research, Danquah Institute, David Amoateng, President, Traders Advocacy Group (TAG), and other stakeholders.

The symposium will be televised live on some major television channels and also streamed live on all major social media platforms.

The various media platforms to telecast the event live on their respective platforms will be published Tuesday 11th June for the general public.
