Bole youth and stakeholders agree on terms and conditions before the embattled principal of the Bole Nursing and Midwifery Training College assume post

On the issue of the posting of a new Principal for the Bole Nursing and Midwifery Training College and protest by the Bole Progressive Youth for Development on behalf of the Bole Community, there was a stakeholders meeting including the Paramount Chief of the Bole Traditional Area Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge Feso (I), the DCE for Bole and the embattled Principal Mr Tiah Haruna to discuss some terms and conditions before the Principal would be accepted to assume post.

The terms and conditions will remain and will constitute terms upon which the appointment of all Principals of the College would be recognize and duly accepted to assume post.

Speaking to Nkilgi Fm, Mr Adams Abdulai, President of the Bole Progressive Youth for Development said the terms and conditions agreed on are;

  1. The Principal shall recognize and accept the multiplicity of stakeholdership in directing and governing the affairs of the College towards its development.
  2. The College shall hold an Annual General Meeting every year for which the Bole Traditional Council and Progressive Youth for Development shall be participants. The notice shall be served at least seven (7) days to the date of the Annual General Meeting.
  3. The College shall allocate 40% or more of the total Students’ admissions to Students hailing or coming from the Bole Traditional Area and the District. The quota is to be coordinated by the Bole Traditional Council and Progressive Youth for Development.
  4. Indigenes/natives of the Bole Community shall be given first priority in all issues regarding engagement and recruitment of Teaching Staff and this number shall not constitute less than 30% of the total Teaching Staffing need of the College.
  5. The College shall ensure that all recruitment pertaining to non-teaching Staff being not less than 70% of the total Non-Teaching needs of the College including casual staff is granted to natives or persons coming from the Bole Community.

In view of the above, the Progressive Youth for Development is stating unequivocally that the acceptance of the above terms and conditions shall constitute a binding agreement between the College and the Bole Community.

However, failure to accept the terms and conditions shall result in non-recognition of the appointment of the newly appointed principal of the College.
