COCOSHE Executives Heap Praises on COCOBOD CEO

The Executives of the Ghana Cocoa Coffee and Shea Nut Farmers Association (COCOSHE) on Tuesday October 20, 2020 paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive Officer of COCOBOD, Hon. Joseph Boahen Aidoo, to congratulate him for the prestigious award conferred by the Ivorian President Alassane Dramane Ouattara on him.

According to the Chairman of COCOSHE, Hon. Joseph Aidoo and his administration have made Cocoa farmers in Ghana proud for receiving such an award. He added that his hard work in the cocoa, coffee and shea industry has placed Ghana on a high pedigree.

“First and foremost, please accept our congratulations on your prestigious award of the commander of the national order of merit. We’ve been informed that the award was specially reserved for individuals who have distinguished themselves in service to the Ivorian people; which we believe are our colleague Cocoa farmers in that country”.

“We’re also aware that the award which was conferred on you by his Excellency Alassane Dramane Ouattara, the President of the Republic of Ivory Coast, is in recognition of your lead role in the series of painstaking negotiations communating in the realization of a living income differential of 400USD extra amount on every tonne of Cocoa sold by the two countries.” he added.

The Executive Chairman again thanked Mr Boahen Aidoo for supporting government’s decision to increase the producer prices of cocoa in Ghana. “We also thank you for supporting government’s decision to increase the producer price of a bag of 64 kg Cocoa from GH515.00 to GH660.00, which translates into GH10,560.00 per tonne for the 2020/21 crop season”.

In response, Mr. Joseph Boahen thanked the Executives of COCOSHE for their recognition. He also took advantage of the visit to introduce to the Executives of COCOSHE, COCOBOD’s Cocoa Management System, which the board is about to roll out. COCOBOD’s data management system is a special program and data management system specially made to manage cocoa farmers’ database in Ghana.
