President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has reaffirmed his deep trust in Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer for the 2024 general elections.
Speaking during an event in Kumasi, the President emphasized that throughout their years of collaboration, Dr. Bawumia has consistently demonstrated honesty and integrity, never misleading him in any way. This, Akufo-Addo said, has solidified his confidence in Dr. Bawumia’s ability to lead Ghana effectively.
Akufo-Addo urged Ghanaians to choose Dr. Bawumia over former President John Dramani Mahama, whom he described as a failed leader seeking another chance at power. He stressed that Dr. Bawumia’s qualifications, vision, and proven dedication to governance make him the right person to guide the nation into the future.
“This is someone who has never lied to me,” Akufo-Addo remarked. “I trust him completely, and I encourage Ghanaians to place their faith in him as well. Dr. Bawumia has consistently shown his commitment to my vision for Ghana and has been instrumental in our progress. I have no doubt he will continue to build on what we have achieved.”
The President highlighted Dr. Bawumia’s readiness for leadership, citing his years of public service and deep understanding of governance. He called on voters to recognize Dr. Bawumia’s potential to further Ghana’s development and to rally behind him in the 2024 elections.
Akufo-Addo’s endorsement of Dr. Bawumia is not new. During a visit to Wa in the Upper West Region in October, he praised the Vice President’s dedication and accomplishments over nearly two decades of service.
At that event, Akufo-Addo applauded Dr. Bawumia’s unwavering commitment to the country’s progress, describing him as a leader with the vision, expertise, and determination needed to address Ghana’s challenges. He urged the electorate to support Dr. Bawumia, emphasizing that his track record speaks volumes about his ability to deliver results.
