Jeremie Frimpong, a Dutch international with Ghanaian heritage, has arrived in Ghana for a short visit.
The Bayer Leverkusen defender landed at the Kotoka International Airport on Sunday night, where he received a warm welcome. His visit is expected to last a week, during which he will engage in various activities.
Speaking to the media upon his arrival, Frimpong expressed his excitement, saying, “It’s amazing to experience such a warm reception for the first time. These are my people, and I’m so happy to be here in Ghana.”
He shared that his connection to Ghana has always been strong. “Both my parents are Ghanaian. I eat Ghanaian food, I speak the language, and I feel deeply connected to my roots,” the right-back noted.
Frimpong also revealed that part of his visit involves a project he is spearheading in Ghana. “I have a project called Pathways, which is based here in Ghana. It’s important to give back to the homeland,” he said.
He described the initiative as significant and expressed enthusiasm about its potential impact, adding, “The project here is going to be amazing.”
