Bawumia Represents Hope for Ghanaians – Freddie Blay

Freddie Blay, the former National Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), has urged Ghanaians to support and vote for the party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in the upcoming December 7 elections. According to him, this will allow Dr. Bawumia to implement the NPP’s transformative vision for the nation.

In an interview with Citi FM, Mr. Blay highlighted Dr. Bawumia’s contributions as Vice President over the past seven years, emphasizing that his innovative ideas have not only strengthened the party but also inspired hope among Ghanaians.

Dr. Bawumia’s plans for the upcoming elections are outlined in the NPP manifesto, which proposes bold strategies to drive Ghana’s economic transformation. Key priorities include creating jobs for the youth, supporting businesses to thrive in the global marketplace, and equipping young people with the digital skills needed to meet global demands.

The manifesto also emphasizes the importance of fostering Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) for large-scale infrastructure projects and proposes a simplified process for land registration without requiring upfront fees. In addition, the NPP promises to enhance financial inclusion through advancements in digital payments and mobile banking, while integrating more services into the Ghana Card system. Plans to modernize agriculture are also a major focus.

Dr. Bawumia has pledged to sustain and improve key educational initiatives such as the Free Senior High School (SHS) program and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). These programs, he stated, have opened doors for millions of students who otherwise might not have had access to further education after Junior High School.

Speaking about Dr. Bawumia’s leadership, Mr. Blay stated: “The ideas he presents are compelling and instill confidence in the masses. They provide hope and foster unity among Ghanaians. At a time like this, we are fortunate to have Dr. Bawumia leading the charge for a brighter future.”

Mr. Blay, who is also a former Member of Parliament for Ellembelle, further noted that Dr. Bawumia’s vision resonates strongly with the youth and is a testament to his value not just to the NPP but to the entire nation. He called on both the party and the public to recognize and support a leader who continues to be a source of inspiration and progress for Ghana.
