I was at a point, thrown into a paroxysm of laughter when watching Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa at the committee set to delve into what caused the chaos in Parliament.
I was equally saddened by the sort of person President John Dramani Mahama has appointed as Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister.
I am firm in my belief or convictions that Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa is accursed with the spirit of lying. He lies so much that his own people have begun to believe what we have been saying about him all this while.
Ablakwa, at the committee, did not only tell lies but also engaged in needless exaggerations just so he could redeem a fraction of his battered image.
He told the committee that some of the chiefs who came to support him at his vetting had to flee for their lives the night the NDC members on the committee had wanted to foist him on the committee, a move that was resisted by the Minority MPs on the committee.
This is a lie from the pit of hell. No such incident was recorded or reported. In fact, the chiefs and others with them resorted to hauling insults on Hon.Alexander kwamena Afenyo-Markin for not allowing Ablakwa to be vetted that late night.
How could these same people be said to have fled for their lives? Ablakwa would do wonderfully well entering into the acting world. He can invent stories for the whole Ghana movie industry.
Ablakwa also claimed at the committee that he saw someone destroying the microphone of the Chairman of the Appointment Committee, Ahiafor, that night.
Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, who was put in charge of the fact-finding committee, disputed what Ablakwa said and asked him to mention the name of the person who was causing destruction to the microphone.
Our beleaguered Foreign Affairs Minister then said that he had to refresh his memory to know the particular NPP MP who pulled out the Chairman’s microphone. It was very embarrassing watching him peddle this falsehood and getting exposed by his own party member.
It would appear that the umbilical cord that brought Samuel Ablakwa had the inscription ‘a liar’ when he was delivered in the hospital.
I have no doubt in my mind that when God was throwing Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa down here, he might have proclaimed: “Peace be unto the Heavens that the great liar has been disposed of. Woe unto the world, particularly, Earth, for the beautiful liar has been thrown down to live amongst you”.
Ever since Ablakwa’s lavish lifestyle became a topical issue at his vetting, the Isofoton, unconscionable, pristine and unimpeachable man has never been the same.
In a competition for who can best lie in Africa, Ablakwa would easily win Ghana a gold medal for being the best ever lying soul walking on our soils.
